Divine Father - Mother God, Redeeming and Teaching Lord, and Loving Companion Spirit ...
We ask your Help and Blessing as we go forth released from all earthly bonds, renewed in our intention to manifest the Christ Presence in us all ... We give thanks for Your Spirit in our lives ... May these 40 days be ones of renewal and rebirth for each one of us ...
We Pray in the name of Living Christ, Amen and Amen ...
What Does Lent Mean ...
It is time for us to move from the celebration of Mardi Gras, wearing costumes, delicious foods and being silly to a time of removing the "masks" we wear in our daily lives, a time of removing the "costumes" we hide behind - a time of true "Spiritual Rebirth and Renewal" ...
LENT offers each of us the opportunity to start anew on our Spiritual Path ... It matters not which "flavor" Spirituality or Religious direction you choose ... Moving closer to your God and Spiritual Journey is all that matters ...
The first day of Lent is traditionally called Ash Wednesday and many "Sign" themselves with Ashes in the shape of a Cross as a symbol of their unworthiness - the "ashes to ashes" and "dust to dust" mindset ...
In UNITY we choose to see the Ashes and Cross as an emblem of Triumph, a symbol of Supreme Overcoming ... We choose to hold it up and embrace it ... We see the Horizontal line representing our "Human Self" and the Vertical Line as that part of us that is Sacred ... Where these lines "Cross" is the Holy Ground where the Sacred Human resides, where the Christ in us resides ... It is on this Holy Ground that the Christ in you Crosses out all error, revealing the "Truth of Eternal Life" ...
Ashes symbolize our UNITY with all that is, for each ash contains the whole world, the very building blocks of the Universe ... Each ash gives testimony to our Oneness with the entire Universe ...
As you begin this Lent, I encourage you to see yourself filled with the Christ Spirit - Know your are "The Christ, the Light of the Living God to the World" ...
